Alexander Chudacoff Outdoor Classroom

Learning among the trees. We were proud to partner with Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and other supporters to make the 1,000 square-foot Alexander Chudacoff Outdoor Classroom a reality. Nestled in the trees behind the middle school complex and featuring indoor and outdoor areas, the new classroom will allow students to learn and work on projects while enjoying their natural surroundings.

Vulcan Partners With Catawba River Trail

Our Morganton Quarry in North Carolina is in the beginning stages of a partnership with the Catawba River Trail stakeholders that would potentially provide public access to approximately 1/2 mile of riverfront property at the facility for a segment of the trail. The Morganton team plans to place several educational exhibits along the trail for visitors to learn about how rocks and minerals are used in society, continuing their commitment to education in the area.

Helping Hand During COVID-19

Fundación Cozumel and SAC-TUN (Vulcan’s major operation in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico) are working together on the island of Cozumel to help feed families impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis. The partnership is providing food deliveries to families and supporting 10 community kitchens which serve more than 2,500 hot meals daily. Through the Punta Venado Maritime Terminal, which receives the cargo ferries that supply the island, our SAC-TUN team also provides services to support trade, tourism, and regional industry.
