A Donation to the Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center

Our North Quarry team in North Carolina recently donated material to Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center, which provides equine assisted activities for both children and adults with disabilities. The material was used to improve their trail network just in time for warmer weather!

Supporting Girl Scouts

Our San Emidio team recently surprised Girl Scout Troop 8120 in Bakersfield, CA by buying out their entire inventory of cookies. But they didn’t stop there, donating the more than 300 boxes of cookies to the Boys and Girls Club of Kern County. Way to go team!

Ohatchee Tornado Relief

The Vulcan Way in practice. A tornado recently hit the community of Ohatchee, Alabama causing major damage and heartbreak. Since then, our local team has sprung into action, preparing hundreds of meals for first responders and volunteers. Great work to Speedway Quarry Plant Manager Josh Graham and the 40+ other Vulcan volunteers that have pitched in during the Ohatchee community’s time of need.

Old Richmond Elementary School Crafts

Meet Metamorphic Rock, Igneous Rock, and Baby Metamorphic Rock, just a few of the cute creations crafted by first graders at Old Richmond Elementary School in North Carolina. Our North Carolina team partnered with the school to provide a fun way for students to learn about geology, delivering hardhats, workbooks and coloring books.

Villa Rica WHC Recertification

Congratulations to our Villa Rica Quarry team in Georgia who achieved recertification of their facility by the Wildlife Habitat Council as a wildlife habitat. The team manages the site to maintain a healthy population of white-tailed deer, planting native species like partridge peas, Indian sawgrass and crabapple trees to ensure the deer have an appropriate habitat. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our environment.

Mini Rockin' NC kits

Mini Rockin’ NC kits for NC kids. We partnered with Appalachian State University Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences to create 1,600 rock kits for elementary students in North Carolina. The kits help students learn about geology at home during the pandemic.
