New Conveyor Reduces Vehicle Emissions

A conveyor system bridge is being built for the Kings Canyon Road project. The system will improve safety, reduce vehicle emissions and relieve traffic congestion by transporting an estimated 800,000 tons of material from the yard over the highway to the job site.

Vulcan's Waste Management Program

Vulcan practices recycling a majority of materials that otherwise would be managed as a waste material. This includes the recycling of light bulbs, batteries, used oil and oil filters, antifreeze/coolant, and petroleum contaminated materials as alternative fuels.

Joe Miller is not just a Plant Operator, he has been participating/competing in the Scottish Highland Games for the past 17 years. Joe is currently ranked 11th in the nation in the Masters division.

Plant Manager Jasen Talley is very involved in the local community and has developed strong relationships by initiating numerous partnerships with schools and other organizations, including the Pineapple School in San Antonio.

Staff Accountant Tiffany Turner participated in the 13th Annual Chili Cook-Off benefiting The Exceptional Foundation. Tiffany’s recipe won as a fan favorite among her colleagues and was used at the Cookoff. More than 120 teams competed.

Frank Madla Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas hosted a Career on Wheels Day for kids to learn about a number of professions. Ready mix driver Mario Luna brought his truck along to teach kids all about concrete.
