"Thinking of You"

Meet Amy, Area Plant Office Administrator in Alabama. She wanted to bring some positivity to the residents of Barfield Health Care in Guntersville, AL. With the help of some local students from DAR Middle School, they made and delivered more than 50 “thinking of you” cards to the residents. Great work Amy!

Going live in 3-2-1… For years, our North Quarry in North Carolina has partnered with Kaleideum North, a local science museum, to promote STEM education for future generations. Adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic, the museum took its “Geology at Work” program virtual. The sessions give students a cool way to learn how aggregates are the building blocks of our communities.

Earth Day Challenge

This April, our North Carolina team participated in the Corporate Earth Day Challenge with EarthShare North Carolina. Our team was among over 400 volunteers from 28 companies who took time out of their week to plant seeds, remove trash, move mulch, and make an impact for the NC environment through in person and virtual projects. Vulcan team members and their families partnered with the Carolina Raptor Center to create bird enrichment items for their raptors at the center.

On-Site Pollinator Garden

In honor of Earth Day, our Lexington Quarry team in South Carolina recently installed a pollinator garden with help from employees and family members. This project puts the team one step closer to their goal of becoming Wildlife Habitat Council certified.
