A State-of-the-Art Stadium for San Diego State

We partnered with Western Paving in the construction of Snapdragon Stadium, the future home of the San Diego State Aztecs. This project consists of 35,000 tons of asphalt from Otay HMA and 10,000 tons of cement treated base from Carroll Canyon. The paving construction began October 2021 and will be completed this month.

Honoring Service

Our Kennesaw Quarry in Georgia is partnering with the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation (CVMF) and the Cobb County Commission to supply 1,900 tons of material for the construction of a veterans memorial. Our Southeast Division has over 100 veterans and company-wide we employ over 600 veterans.

Supporting Educators

Our Greystone Quarry team contributed to the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce’s New Teacher Welcome Program. The team helped to fill bags that were given to 130 new teachers. We wish new teachers everywhere a safe and fun first year!

Drills that Keep Our Communities Safe

Our Virginia team helped Arlington County Fire Department hold a Breaching and Breaking Drill, providing multiple slabs of concrete. The firefighters practiced chain sawing, stitch drilling, core drilling, and step cutting with rotary saws. We’re proud to partner with first responders everywhere.

BBQ Rocks!

Members of our Tennessee team gathered for the annual Sevierville Bloomin’ BBQ Festival. The team was on-hand to explain how we do things The Vulcan Way and pass out freebies. We even judged the “Everything but BBQ” competition in which the best side dish wins.

A 'Berry' Fun Summer Event

Our Dayton and Cleveland (TN) Teams made their float debut at the 75th Dayton Strawberry Festival. Complete with a Fred Flintstone Flintmobile, their ‘Rock’n Thru the Ages’ float won 3rd place out of 80 submissions. We can’t wait to see what they have planned for next year!

Our Skippers Team in Virginia celebrated Ray Broady for his 30 years of service to our company. A U.S. Army Veteran and Pit Crew Equipment Operator, Ray embodies The Vulcan Way on and off the job. Congratulations Ray!

Summer Camp Rocks!

Students from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) geology summer camp visited our Morganton Quarry for a day of hands-on experience. The eighth- and ninth-graders learned about geology, quality control, and career pathways into the aggregates industry.
