Our Brownwood Quarry Team in Texas was honored to host Congressman August Pfluger. The team was excited to take the Congressman on a tour and show how we produce products that are vital to building and maintaining infrastructure.

Helping Save a Pelican in Peril

Our Western Division provided support to International Bird Rescue, an organization that specializes in emergency preparedness and response, day-to-day aquatic bird care, and scientific research. When the organization discovered a spate of sickness in brown pelicans occurring for an unknown reason, our Orca Aggregates Port of Long Beach provided support. The team recently released a pelican that the team had taken under their wing.

Career Exploration Day

Cabarrus Big Brothers Big Sisters stopped by our Cabarrus Quarry in North Carolina for a Career Exploration Day. Middle and High School students with their "Bigs" learned about career pathways at Vulcan, took a close-up look at quarry equipment and toured the quarry that's been operating since 1987.

Getting Active for a Cause

Members of our Alabama team participated in the Just A Call Away 5K fundraiser. The fun run benefits Crisis Center, Inc., which serves the unmet needs of people experiencing personal crisis or mental health issues and responds with services that promote coping, emotional health and well-being. Thank you to all those who participated and cheered our team on!

For the sixth year in a row, our Tennessee Team supported Union Heights Elementary. This year, the contribution will be used to provide each student and staff member with a shirt to help demonstrate their school pride. Here’s to many more years of partnership!

Our Skippers Team in Virginia hosted a group of children from Rush All Aboard Day Care for a visit. The kids met the team, learned about different types of rocks, and got an up-close look at the equipment we use for our operations.
